One of the best experiences in Iceland can be found at a simple farm in the Golden Circle!

For an all around good time in Iceland, head to the Efstidalur (Efsti Dalur) Farm located in the Golden Circle. Chances are you didn’t travel to Iceland to stay in a five-star hotel. Chances are you’re looking for a simpler, more authentic experience, and you will find it all here at this destination. Here are just a few of the many things you will find at Efstidalur:

Visiting Efstidalur, and staying overnight, is one of my all time best experiences in Iceland, and that’s saying a lot with everything Iceland has to offer. If you’re visiting the Golden Circle, make sure to pay a visit to Efstidalur! If you don’t stay overnight, at least stop by for hamburgers and ice cream!

The Efstidalur Farmhouse is situated on a hill overlooking the countryside.

Accommodations at Efstidalur include these rustic cabin rooms, outfitted with twin or double beds and a private bathroom.

Rooms at this house, next to the log cabin-style rooms, are also available for rent. Amenities include a hot tub on the deck.

You can find ice cream and other treats, including Rhubarb Cake and Homemade Skyr Dessert, downstairs in the main farmhouse.

Efstidalur’s Hlöðuloftið Restaurant, upstairs in the main building, features farm to table dining with ingredients from Efstidalur and surrounding farms.
